Thieves of t he Night

Ride a gallant stallion,
White against the light.
Hold the reigns tightly,
Mask your tears do not weep.
Hide behind a mountain that rose from
Years and moments in time.
Iridescent, scintillating, stars before their eyes,
Refracting the pain that only angels can see-
White against the light,
The dead have robbed the sun within the twilight,
Thieves within the darkness.
Black against the night,
Listen to the dead wailing the blues,
Ghosts come alive to
Dance before the moon.
The dark are the criminals, stealing the night,
Assassinating spirits, thieves of their thoughts.
White against the light,
The gallant young stallion canters.
Clench its reigns tightly as to
Hold back its tears,
Masked by blinders, that others cannot see, and
Hide behind a curtain of woven sunbeams at dawn.
Iridescent, scintillating,
The sun refracts the light,
Within the eyes of angels,
Tears only they can see,
And that gallant white stallion
Canters beyond the horizon, as
The dead shall arise and eternally come to life,
From the land of spirits lost,
Taking away the night…
