Any type of graphical art endeavor created using digital technology is considered
Digital Art. Sometimes called
to as Digi-Art. There are several subcategories of digi-art. Here's how we've categorized various types of Digital Art on this wiki:
Web-Art is artful creations specifically designed for displaying on websites. This includes website templates, bullets, bars, and icons for webpages, animated graphics, as well as static graphics for including on webpages. Since e-mail is a web based form of communication, email stationary is considered web-art too.Screen-Art is similar to web-art in that it is typically seen on computer monitors. However screen-art is designed to be shown on any type of screen view, not just in a web invironment. This includes desktop wallpapers and icons, slideshows, and graphics designed for displaying on either television or computer screens outside of the WWW. For example, templates for Power Point presentations or graphics to be used in developing DVD's would fall into this category.Digi-Scrapping is basically the digital creation of any project that is traditionally accomplished using paper. Digital replicas of a paper product if you will. This includes graphics for digital scrapbook layouts, ATCs, greeting cards, or collage type projects. Graphics/products designed to be printed out, sometimes called printables, is also included in this category because of the connection this art has to paper-based mediums.Software Tool-Art is the category assigned to art products created to be used with graphic design software products. This includes shapes, brushes, textures, filters, and other type creations that serve as tools in connection with a software product use.-----------------------------------
